the stars of our show

In May of 2022, Project Andante was but a single concert, hosted with an array of about eight or nine people. To this day, it has expanded to nearly a hundred active performers, each keystones in making our concerts as successful as they are today.

In the fast-paced, stress-filled time period that is high school, our performers have found time to squeeze to share the happiness of music with seniors.

So, we've prepared a little gallery to thank each and every one of them for their contributions to our mission and our goals.

Ethan Hsu

Saxophonist/Pianist

Ethan is a junior at S High School in Bellevue WA. He plays multiple instruments including flute (4 yrs) alto sax (3yrs) bassoon (3 yrs) piano (8yrs) and 6 more instruments. Ethan has been part of band since 5th grade and has a own ensemble outside of school where he conducts and teaches middle through high schoolers. Other hobbies outside of music include playing badminton and ultimate frisbee.

Violinist

Abby is in 9th grade at International School in the Bellevue School District. She started playing violin in 5th grade. Outside of music, she enjoys hanging out with her friends, sleeping in her bed, playing video games, playing violin in school and outside of school orchestras, and somewhat enjoys swimming.

Pianist

Megan is a Sophomore at Newport High School in Bellevue, Washington. She has been playing the piano since she was four years old. Her hobbies outside of music include reading, watching TV shows, and playing games.

Pianist

Jeffrey is a 11th grade student at Interlake High School in Bellevue, WA. He started playing the piano when he was 4 and enjoys performing music for others. Jeffrey has experience performing solo and with an orchestra, and has won many awards at piano competitions. Outside of piano, Jeffrey enjoys video games, skiing, and competitive math.

My name is Jingqi and I am an Freshmen at Newport High School. I started playing cello in 5-6th grade. Outside of music, I do competitive math, science, and debate. I also enjoy drawing.

Vocalist

Chloe is a 8th grader in Tyee Middle School. She has loved singing since she was young, but she also enjoys playing volleyball, reading, eating, and sleeping.

Nicholas Chen

Violinist/Violist

Nick is a Junior at Newport High School in Bellevue, WA. He started playing violin in 6th grade and viola since 9th grade. Outside of Project Andante, he actively participates in Boy Scouts, plays violin in BYSO, plays viola in Newport's Chamber Orchestra, does swimming and XC, enjoys volleyball, is somewhat competent at skiing, and does random musical gigs that his friends dragged him into.

Pianist

Anna is an eighth grader at Tyee Middle School in Bellevue, Washington. She has played the piano for 10 years but has limited experience with other instruments such as the violin. Outside of music, her hobbies include competitive swimming and reading.

Cellist/Guitarist

Christina is a Junior at Lakeside School in Seattle, WA. She plays three instruments: cello, piano and guitar. She's been in various musical activities since she was 4 years old. Outside of music, she enjoys winning in contest math, any kind of board sport (snowboarding, skateboarding, wakeboarding, surfing, probably fireboarding if it existed), and annihilating people at volleyball.

Logan is currently a Junior at Newport High School. He has been playing flute on-and-off for 5 years. His hobbies outside of music include robotics and volleyball.

Victor is a student at Newport High School in Bellevue, Washington. He has played the piano for many years and apart from music he enjoys playing soccer, participating in boy scouts, and skiing.

Clarinetist/Saxophonist

Hayden is a sophomore at Newport High School, WA. He plays both clarinet and saxophone, and is a member of both his school's wind ensemble and jazz band. He spends his free time gaming, sleeping, crocheting, writing, and baking. His advice: if you want someone to like you, bake them cookies!

Ava is a eighth grader at Odle Middle School. She has been singing for four years and has enjoyed performing for several years. Her hobbies out of music include dancing, acting, and swimming. She holds the title of Miss Washington Preteen.

Albert is a sophomore at Newport High School in Bellevue, WA. He plays the clarinet, and has been in lots of musical activities since he started in 5th grade. Outside of music, he enjoys robotics, science competitions, and doing homework because he's an insane person.

Caileen is a sophomore at Lakeside School, and has been playing both violin and piano since the age of 3. She enjoys playing in both orchestra and chamber, and often participates in music competitions and festivals. Outside of music, she enjoys painting, ballet, baking, and cooking.

Aiden is a current 4th grader at Seattle Country Day School who plays the piano! He won first place in the Chopin competition and has won many other awards. He swims at Pacific Dragon Swim Team, and he enjoys annoying his little sister, and playing videogames! He is a funny boy.

James Lee is a cellist residing in Bellevue Washington. He has been a part of a multitude of musical competitions, under the direction of his cello teacher, Sounglim Lee, who is also his mother. He has been playing for 7 years now, and has been a part of Project Andante since March of 2024.
